Aerator, Livewell Accessories & Bait Buckets

Well, whether you are a seasoned bass man or just learning the ropes, there are so many items available to make your endeavors more successful (or at least enjoyable) that there just aren?t any excuses for not considering a few for your fishing supplies bin.

First, you will probably need some bait and a place to keep it fresh and tasty. There are floating bait well nets in assorted colors for under $5, and much larger (5-gallon) bait tamers by Lindy for under $20. If something a bit smaller will work for now, the very popular chum drawstring bags by Marine Sport are roomy and inexpensive for just a few dollars.

Plano produces aerators that are more in the style of buckets. They range from 6-quart bait buckets to 10-quart minnow buckets to the Deluxe Trolling bucket. Prices are inexpensive with a range of about $7.50 to less than $17. All of them keep your bait accessible and at arm?s reach with foam inserts to keep them floating nearby. Challenge even makes a swivel seat that fits any 5-gallon bucket to keep your time on the banks of the river more comfortable by providing a padded place to sit.

Air pumps also come in a multitude of styles and sizes. Livewell accessories include a dual-outlet pump for air running through the water to keep fish alive indefinitely, be they the fresh or salt-water variety. It runs very quietly and needs no more than typical household current for operation. Other pumps include Marine Metal Products Quiet Bubbles which runs on batteries or a more powerful 12-volt version that pumps a full two liters every minute; many other styles, sizes and price ranges are available, simply decide what best fits your needs.

If you have got your bait buckets or holding tanks, then you are going to want to have a few other items on hand to help keep your bait alive. Consider Sure Life?s bait holding formulas. You simply add them to your water (even tap water is fine) and the formula cleans the water of chlorine replaces electrolytes so your bait stays alive. Also consider fungus aid; it can rid your tank of the diseases that frequently plague baitfish. It could help save an entire tank full of your bait -- saving you time, money, and frustration if disease wiped out your bait supply.

Lastly, do you need an easy way to get your baitfish from the tank when you?re ready to hit the lakes? Aftco's Gold Series bait nets are ideal for the task; they?re available in 12? and 18? lengths with polyester hoops.

By now, hopefully you are realizing just how many products are available when it comes to aerators, livewell accessories, and bait buckets. There are many more styles and sizes of aerators available, as well as more tank filters, portable oxygen infusers, recirculating kits and worm bedding. They?re all just one aspect of becoming successful when you?re fishing, but they are items worth considering and purchasing if they?ll help you catch the big one or make your efforts more fun.
