Shoot and Hunt

Outdoor sports have been a stable of life in the world for many centuries, with such pastimes as hunting, target practice and fishing. As weapons have become more sophisticated, hunting and target practice have evolved in terms of games you can play and difficulty level overall. One sport in particular that has evolved over the years is archery. With archery you can hunt, shoot at targets for practice and even bowfish.

If you are going to take up archery it is important to make sure you have the right supplies and knowledge of where to get these supplies. Unfortunately you cannot use your archery equipment endlessly without cleaning them, which is why you should pick up some wax and conditioner. Additionally, if you require some repairs on your equipment there are many adhesives and glue available, such as the Easton Quick Hit Adhesive.

There are quite a few products available to enhance your archery skills or the accuracy of your shots such as peep sights. There are several brand names in this business, such as Allen who makes an automatic peep sight, Horton who makes a rear peep sight and Prohunter who offers these and several others. In addition to these, there are other products to enhance your experience with archery such as full bow sights, silencers, draw checks and stabilizers.

After some use you will need to tune your archery products to keep them sharp for future use. Some examples of this are string for the bow, a scale to measure its pull weight, and a cocking device to improve accuracy. Brand names for these products are Radical, Excalibur and Tenpoint; using these products will help keep your equipment in good shape.

For your actual archery adventures there are a few important and obvious items you will need. Targets are crucial for practice and there is an array of products you can buy for this. Allen makes the traditional bullseye targets along with 3D animal targets you can use for hunting practice. Delta and Maple Leaf Press manufacture a target with multiple holes in it for more refined shooting.

Aftershock, Magnus, Rocket and roughly 20-30 other manufacturers make broadheads, arrow tips and blades for your shooting pleasure. Paired with this, of course, are archery vanes and feathers from such brand names as AAE, Limbsaver and Tru-Flite, to name a few. Many of these vanes come in 6 packs and are priced around $50. Finally, you need a place to store these vanes and that is where quivers come in. Bohning, Octane and Neet are some of the brand names for quivers, and they come in both adult and youth size.

There are separate products needed for bowfishing such as a fishing line, reel, nylon and the actual bow itself. Cajun, Muzzy and AMS are a sampling of the brand names available for bowfishing supplies. Finally, there are many other products for archery such as sharpeners, cases, how-to videos, kisser buttons and etceteras. Be sure to perform plenty of research and talk to experts to determine what you need before investing a lot of money.
