There was an essence of connecting with nature. But in the modern hunting gear, there is an excessive use of technology. It is more often like; the technology is pursuing the animal rather than the hunter. Many are of the opinion, that with such technologically advanced hunting gear, there is not much requirement of the skills of the hunter. Basically, anyone can achieve success in hunting, with the help of modern hunting gear, even without being a very skillful hunter. Voices are being raised from certain quarters, that hunting has become the sport of the rich and the influential. With money, anyone can buy technologically advanced hunting gear and can become a hunter in matter of days. But the original thrill of hunting is fading away, due to this modern hunting gear. But the question is does the new and modern hunting gear take away the thrills and excitement of hunting? The answer will definitely be a big NO. The modern hunting gear is also considered vital for the very survival of the hunter. So, they are indeed essential. The Gore-Tex is far better than wearing a cotton jacket. The Gore-Tex keeps the hunter warm, dry and clean. Thus, it is much more hygienic than a cotton jacket. Modern hunting gear, such as GPS are very necessary to find the exact location and also how to move out of the jungle, in case the hunter is lost. At the end of the day, it is the skill of the hunter and not the hunting gear that kills the game. So, the human being matters more than the hunting gear. The hunting gear is important, but not more important than the hunter.
